The Marshall Elementary School (MES) Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is an independent volunteer organization powered by parents, teachers, administrators and support staff dedicated to enriching the lives and promoting successful learning for Marshall students.
The MES PTO works hard to make the school year enjoyable and exciting for the greater Marshall community. Through fun social events and a variety of engagement opportunities we use our resources to support the teachers, staff and students while promoting school spirit and pride!
Did you know?
The MES PTO is the driving force and sponsor behind some of the most beloved and enjoyed Marshall events to include: Read-A-Thon, Fall Festival, Bingo & Basket Night, Fun Run, and Teacher/Staff Appreciation week! BUT! These hallmark events are only a fraction of what we do. The PTO works closely with Marshall administrators, staff, and teachers to ensure the needs of Marshall students are met.
Since 2005 PTO efforts helped bring laptops, tablets, books and flexible seating into the classroom. Our hard work has provided playground equipment, guest speakers, new high capacity printer/copiers, and much much more. Since 2005, the MES PTO has raised over $647,000 to support students.
Since COVID, PTO membership numbers are down.
Lack of active members jeopardizes our reach and support for Marshall students.
Sign-Up Myths:
Signing up for PTO doesn't mean you join every event team or are responsible for finding hundreds of sponsors. Signing up means you care about helping shape school happenings. Join us at a meeting (membership to attend is not required) and all PTO meetings hosted online and in-person. Come share an idea, make a constructive suggestion—your voice matters and is appreciated.
Microvolunteer!
We get it...families are busier than ever—juggling multiple jobs, homework, sports schedules, and getting dinner on the table. The sheer thought of "coordinating a fun run is enough to make most volunteers tap out before they even get started.
Microvolunteering is all about helping in small, bite-size doses—think easy, doable ways that actually fit into your busy life. You don’t have to lead a team or attend every PTO meeting...you just have to show up for a moment and be willing to help on your terms.
And guess what? When everyone pitches in a little, those small moments add up to big support for our school community.
If and when you're ready to take on a larger role, we are here for it! Your energy and ambition will be celebrated!
