We are exciting to bring back the extended Spanish club to Marshall – this is our ELEVENTH year at Marshall This is the only language club in PWCS to offer a structured language curriculum with three levels of instruction: Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced.
- Classes are set at a 15 student maximum.
- Cost of $170 includes tuition, workbooks, binder, all supplies, and two class celebrations.
- Sibling discount and scholarships also available: 10% off for two siblings and 20% off for 3+ siblings; 50% off for staff member parent.
- Classes meet once a week, before school from 8:15-9:10 AM. Clubs will run starting the week of October 7 and running through April 7th.

- If your child attends Benton Middle School, he/she will take start taking language classes as an eighth grader.
- Research shows that critical periods in brain development accommodate the development of specific skills with language being one of these. A younger brain acquires a second language much more efficiently than an older brain.
- The proven benefits of learning a second language include improvements in intelligence, memory, and concentration and lowered risks of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Spanish Club sessions will start the week of October 7, 2024 (Tuesday-Friday).
How Do I Sign My Student Up for a Spanish Club?
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to sign up for clubs via the internet. At 7 pm on September 30th, 2023, a website will be activated to allow for registration. Parents/Guardians without access to the internet, may send a note in advance to the school for the Marshall PTO or send an email to pto.marshall@gmail.com to request a paper sign up option.

How Does Online Sign Up Work?
The Sawyer website allows a one-stop process to register and pay for clubs. The paper form is not required! Sign up only takes a few steps:
- Use the link above to access the website at 7 pm on September 30th, 2024.
- Scroll to find the club for enrollment or use the days of the week tabs to filter the club options.
- Click the “More Info” button to read the club information.
- Click the “Register” button to complete the registration process. Please note that you will be asked specific, required questions to enroll your student. These questions eliminate the paper signup process for us!
- Complete registration by submitting payment. Alternately, you may send in a check with your student made out to “Marshall Elementary PTO” however, you MUST use the Promo Code “PayByCheck” to complete the registration process.
Note: PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY October 4. Failure to pay by the deadline WILL result in your registered spot being given to students on the wait list.
Note: HiSawyer requires the creation of a free account to complete the registration process. You can speed up the club registration process by creating your account in advance (if you do not already have one).
How Do I Know We Obtained a Spot in a Club?
HiSawyer sends an email on behalf of the PTO as soon as the registration is complete (usually within minutes).
How Do I Pay for a Club? Do I Pay for Waitlisted Clubs?
Payment is part of the online registration process. You must submit payment by October 4, 2023. Failure to pay WILL result in your student being removed from the club. Do NOT send payments for Waitlisted clubs. If you are placed on a waitlist, the PTO will contact you if you are moved up from the waitlist.
When Is the First Day of Spanish Club? How Many Weeks Does Spanish Club Meet?
Spanish Club starts during the week of Monday, October 7. Spanish Club will meet most weeks through April 7th, 2025.
How are Schedule Changes and Club Information Communicated?
The Club instructor will reach out via the email address you used to registered your student. It is imperative that you provide an email address that you check frequently.
What Time Do Clubs Meet?
Clubs will meet at 8:15 am, but be sure to check the club descriptions for further information. Early drop-offs cannot be accommodated as there will be no supervision prior to the club start time.
What Is the Dropoff Process for Morning Clubs?
Club Instructors will be waiting for your student at the designated door (please read the club description for the specific door). All students will be gathered by the instructor at the door and walked into the school by the instructor
